Since obtaining my tickets for The National Running Show 2019 at the NEC in Birmingham earlier in the year, I’ve been thinking of doing something special for it.
At first, I was thinking of making film-esk content to upload to my channel, mainly to try avoid vlogging about it, because, I’m almost certain there will be a few creators who will be doing that across the weekend, plus, as you know, I’m not a fan of it anymore.
I was about 90% certain to do this until something came into fruition and it’s something I’ve been talking about since the Summer – the podcast.
Now, I know I have been talking about this relentlessly (sorry, not sorry), more so on my social media channels, but I’m really proud of how well it’s doing so far, so I thought “why not just make a special episode at the NEC?”
So, I am.
Mainly on Saturday, the NRS runs (pun firmly intended) across the weekend of January 19th-20th, I’ll be going around with my Zoom H2n, talking to stalls, sharing my experiences and hopefully, talking to some of the speakers that will be in attendance. I already have a couple of guests locked in, I’ll not say who just yet, but it should be a fun day out!
The weekend is sure to be epic, with brands such as 2XU, New Balance, Ronhill and Asics confirmed as well as Polar, Gu and Athletics Weekly also due to be there. What caught my eye, though, were the guests.
If there’s one thing I love to do, it’s testing myself, pushing the boundaries and doing this will tick boxes to do just that. I’m lucky enough to have experienced mixed/media zones in sport, so talking to someone for around 60 seconds is my bread and butter, but trying to paint a picture of where I am and what’s going on for folk who LISTEN and can’t see AND not sound boring, that’s where the true challenge will take place.
It’s exciting, 100% and I’ll do what I can to make it a fun episode but if there’s questions or stuff you’d like me to check out or if you’re going, let me know!
